EXCURSION TO PHONG NHA CAVE AND PHONG NHA BOTANICAL GARDEN

Program

At 8:00 – 8:30, our tour guide will pick you up in Dong Hoi city (train station, airport, hotels) or in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang area to explore Phong Nha Cave and Phong Nha Botanical Garden.

Upon arriving at the pier, we will board a boat on the Son River, listening to the love story associated with the river. We will admire the beautiful natural landscape of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park. After about 30 minutes sitting on the boat, admiring the simple village life on both sides of the river, we will arrive at the entrance of Phong Nha Cave, located in the center of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park with a length of 7,729 meters. We will enjoy impressive karst landscapes, underground river systems, and unique stalactites. This cave is famous for its rock formations with intriguing names like Lion, Unicorn, Kneeling Elephant, and Buddha. We will also explore Co Tien (Fairy) and Cung Dinh (Royal Palace) caves to admire beautiful stalactites formed by nature over millennia.

We will have lunch at a local restaurant with typical village meals.

In the afternoon, we will visit Phong Nha Botanical Garden. Upon arrival, we will immerse ourselves in the wild nature and have the opportunity to learn about the rich and rare ecosystem of flora and fauna in the primitive forest, including species listed in the Red Book. We will explore the beauty of Phong Nha’s mountains and forests. At the same time, we will learn more about the efforts to care for and preserve flora and fauna through the work of garden staff.

We can choose one of the following two visit routes:

Route 1: Exhibition House ⇒ Animal Rehabilitation Area ⇒ Vang Anh Stream ⇒ Peacock Viewing Area ⇒ Rare Tree Forest ⇒ Gio Waterfall (Wind Waterfall).

In this route, we can participate in the following main activities: Viewing specimens on display; wildlife observation; viewing one of 10 beautiful and rare bird species; learning about the world of insects in the forest; learning about aquatic species; admiring orchid flowers; bathing in Vang Anh Stream; learning about the plant world; admiring the beauty of Gio Waterfall (Wind Waterfall).

Route 2: Exhibition House ⇒ Animal Rehabilitation Area ⇒ Peacock Viewing Area ⇒ Rare Tree Forest ⇒ Natural Trail ⇒ Gio Waterfall.

The main activities we can participate in are: Viewing exhibitions; observing primates and some fruit-eating birds; viewing one of 10 beautiful bird species; seeing rare ancient trees over 100 years old; admiring the beauty of Gio Waterfall (Wind Waterfall).

At 17:00 – 17:30, we will say goodbye to Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park and board the bus to return to the hotel or meeting point.

When to book: You can book up to 24 hours before the excursion starts if there are still places available.

How to cancel the reservation:

– To receive a full refund for the excursion, you must cancel at least 12 hours before it starts.

– If you cancel the excursion less than 12 hours before it starts, no refund will be given.

– No changes will be accepted within 12 hours before the excursion starts (The deadline is based on the local time of the place).

– If canceled due to bad weather conditions, you will be offered another date or a full refund of the amount paid.
